Choose a long password that is not reused elsewhere and send it through a different communication channel from the PDF. FileClear AI applies AES-256 encryption locally and cannot recover a forgotten password.
Test the protected result
Download the PDF, open it in another viewer, and confirm that the correct password is required. If the document contains private text, remove metadata and redact content before protection rather than treating encryption as a substitute.
