Match resolution to the destination
Use a moderate resolution for email, previews, and ordinary web pages. Choose a higher setting for small text, diagrams, or later cropping. Higher resolution creates larger images and cannot improve detail that is already missing from a low-quality scan.
Inspect text and page edges
Open a page containing the smallest type, zoom to normal reading size, and check thin lines, signatures, and page margins. The output ZIP should contain one numbered JPG for every PDF page in the original order.
